PROUD PAST - BIG FUTURE

The history of the Iron Workers Union is a bold, colorful and proud one. It stretches back more than 100 years to the beginning of the American Labor Movement and the rapid growth of the country’s great cities. It is about generations of courageous, strong and hard-working men and women who built the greatest structures in this country. In so doing, union ironworkers have earned both a place in history and respect and leadership in their industry. It was tough, it was challenging, and it was well worth the hard work.

Today, the Iron Workers Union - the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers - continues its dedication to establishing and securing the rights of union ironworkers, to fair wages and labor practices, and to job opportunity in a healthy industry. The Iron Workers Union is an advocate for and representative of its members. It provides outstanding training, the highest standards of safety‚ and meaningful, protected benefits that include insurance, pension and training plans built by the contributions of both ironworkers and their employers.
